Welcome to Graeme Sheppard Challenge 2023

19-21 May 2023, Te Rauparaha Stadium, Porirua

We are delighted to be hosting this prestigious artistic roller skating competition again in 2023.

Graeme Sheppard Challenge is open to skaters in grades Cadet, Youth, Junior, Senior, Masters, and Advanced Masters.

Figures

Group and foot draw will be released 1 week prior

The following listed grades as per the 2023 NZ Artistic Requirements:
Cadet, Youth, Junior, Senior, Masters, Advanced Masters

Graeme Sheppard Challenge Figures – Skaters in Espoir who hold figure medal 3 may enter this grade. Challenge skaters will skate the Cadet Figures with the Cadet grade however the challenge results will be announced and presented separately.

Freeskating

The following listed grades as per the 2023 NZ Artistic Requirements:
Cadet, Youth, Junior, Senior, Masters, Advanced Masters

Graeme Sheppard Challenge Freeskating – Skaters in Espoir who hold freeskating medal 3 may enter this grade. Challenge skaters will skate the Cadet Freeskating Long Programme with the Cadet grade, with Cadet grade requirements, however, the challenge results will be announced and presented separately.

Solo Dance

The following listed grades as per the 2023 NZ Artistic Requirements:
Cadet, Youth, Junior, Senior, Masters Solo Dance and Freedance, Advanced Masters

Graeme Sheppard Challenge Solo Dance – Skaters in Espoir who hold solo dance medal 3 may enter this grade. Challenge skaters will skate the Cadet Solo Dance Freedance with the Cadet grade, with Cadet grade requirements, however, the challenge results will be announced and presented separately.

Couples Dance

The following listed grades as per the 2023 NZ Artistic Requirements:
Cadet, Youth, Junior, Senior, Masters, Advanced Masters

Graeme Sheppard Challenge Dance – Skaters in Espoir who hold solo dance medal 3 may enter this grade. Challenge skaters will skate the Cadet Dance Freedance with the Cadet grade, with Cadet grade requirements, however, the challenge results will be announced and presented separately.

Freeskating Pairs

The following listed grades as per the 2023 NZ Artistic Requirements:
Cadet, Youth, Junior, Senior,

Graeme Sheppard Challenge Freeskating Pairs – Skaters in Espoir who hold solo dance medal 3 may enter this grade. Challenge skaters will skate the Cadet Pairs Long Programme with the Cadet grade, with Cadet grade requirements, however, the challenge results will be announced and presented separately.

Precision

The following listed grades as per the 2023 NZ Artistic Requirements:
Junior, Senior, Masters

Entries

Entries close with Artistic Committee Secretary: Sunday 19 March 2023

Late entries will not be accepted.

If you have any special circumstances, travel or otherwise please indicate this when completing the entry form. Requests will be considered but CANNOT be guaranteed. Once entries have closed, there may be no changes made unless agreed on the day of the competition by the organising committee.

Medal Test Requirements

All skaters wishing to enter the competition must hold the medal/s as required for NZ Championships entry.

Entry Fees

$160 per skater entering only 1 event
$220 per skater entering 2 or more events

Music files must be named in the following way: Name, Grade, Event i.e. Jane Doe_Junior Style Dance.

Important: Please ensure that each file contains only one sheet per skater and is named with the skater’s name, grade and event i.e. jane doe_cadet freeskating.

Spectators

Each competitor entered will receive an entry voucher for one (1) spectator.

Additional Spectator tickets are available for purchase via the Eventbrite website or at the door.

Children (5 – 14yrs) $5.00
Seniors/Community Services Card holders $5.00

Kids under 5 years old are free.
